The second day of the Dramatic Action Awards 2025/26 featured five awards celebrating special effects, innovation, writing and committed action performance.
Best Special Effects went to Eddie McGowan and his team for their outstanding work on a 2025 Apple Arcade commercial filmed in Aberdeen. Their organisation, creativity and practical effects work made an ambitious series of action sequences possible.

The Action Innovation Award was presented to filmmaker David Wilde for his forward-thinking promotional work and the development of his Psycho Sex Dolls franchise, including the forthcoming film The Dolls.

Actor and writer Paddy Houlihan received the Special Action Award for his work on the new pilot Shedites. Paddy committed fully to a demanding stunt that many performers would not have attempted.

The Best Action Performer Award was shared by Dom Watters and Patrick O’Brien, the leads of Yesterday’s Men. Both performers brought energy, charm and total commitment to the film’s action sequences.

Wednesday concluded with Best Scripted Action, awarded to Anna Fredrikke Bjerke for the forthcoming feature film Let It Come Down. Her writing provided strong dramatic foundations for action that translated naturally from the page into choreography.

The Dramatic Action Awards continue on Thursday with awards celebrating comedy, television production, production teams and an emerging Scottish filmmaker.
