The Dramatic Action Awards 2025/26 began on Tuesday with five awards recognising outstanding work across action filmmaking, performance, coordination and production.
Best Action Podcast went to Film Fights with Friends, hosted by Stephen Koepfer and Paul Varacchi, for the second consecutive year. Their passion, knowledge and commitment have made the podcast essential listening for anyone interested in screen action.
The Duellist Award was presented to the short film Cernunnos, led by writer-director Kyle Craig and producer Ben Morley, recognising the creativity, enthusiasm and commitment behind its sword-fighting sequences.
The Special Award for Intimacy Coordination went to Michele Gallagher, acknowledging her skill, sensitivity and professionalism when working with cast and crew in challenging and delicate situations.
The Professional Standards Award was presented to Graeme and Fiona at GBM Casting, who went above and beyond to help solve an unusual and highly specific action casting challenge.
Tuesday concluded with Best Short Film, awarded to BAWS, from filmmaker Kevin Pickering. Featuring Simon Weir, Raymond Mearns and Duncan Airlie James, the forthcoming film was recognised for its excellent cast, crew and the enormously positive experience of working on the production.
The Dramatic Action Awards continue throughout the week, celebrating work witnessed personally on productions by fight director and stunt coordinator Carter Ferguson.
