welcome to fight director

THERES NOW TWO ARMOURERS IN SCOTLAND THAT I CAN SUGGEST.

PERRY COSTELLO OF HANDS ON PRODUCTION SERVICES HOLDS A LARGE AND VARIED ARMOURY OF WEAPONS OF ALL TYPES AND CAN PROVIDE LIVE FIRE WEAPONS TO THEATRE AND FILM .

JIM ELLIOTT OF ELLIOTT ARMOURY SERVICES SPECIFICALLY PROVIDES ARMOURY COVER FOR FILM AND TELEVISION.

I PERSONALLY KNOW BOTH THESE ARMOURERS AND CAN RECOMMEND THEM.
Armour Class

FORMERLY the best armoury in Scotland. Sadly this is no longer the case. With no replies to emails sent (which is just rude) and at last shout an 18 month waiting list for weapons I'd suggest you give them a miss. That said, read below for my original info on them.

I've bought twelve weapons from Armour Class over the past three years and have found them to be well constructed and reliable. Any problems have been sorted without fuss.

Armour Class have made weapons for several big films, but are best known for their heavier re-enactment blades, which are of a very high standard.

They use tempered silicon Manganese EN45 spring steel, in construction.

Hands On
hands on
Hands On are Registered Firearms Dealers who work exclusively with the film, television and entertainment industry. As well as hiring the props themselves, they offer a comprehensive risk assessment service and their Armourers are available to ensure safety, historical accuracy, technical precision and legal compliance.  Hands On always recommend (and occasionally insist) that productions seeking to use weapons in fight sequences, employ a suitably qualified fight director or stunt co-ordinator to guarantee realism and safety during combat action.

They are BBC approved contractors in Scotland and have the Authority of the Scottish Executive to supply prohibited weapons under section 5 of the firearms act.

They are the largest suppliers of arms in this country and following their purchase of the Edinburgh based Arvalon Armoury recently, have 1000s of extra items for hire...their stock covers just about every eventuality. So give them a call if your next production calls for any of the following:

Armour, chain mail, helmets, swords, shields, grenades, maces, axes, spears, batons, knives, bayonets, pistols, targes, muskets, machine guns, rifles, shotguns, RPGs, slings, catapults, cross bows, halberds, riot gear, hand-cuffs, polearms, long bows, Saturday night specials, razors, blow pipes, mines, tridents & nets, flare pistols, garrottes, boomerangs, arrows, red hot pokers, lead pipes, candle sticks, rope, revolvers, daggers, spanners, heraldry and flags.
